AWESOME!

This year I am participating in the A-Z Memory Verse Challenge at the blog She Sparkles. This week the verse for letter H was posted. “How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth!” Psalm 47:2
It just made me smile to read this verse! What a great truth and such a good verse to have memorized!
Awesome is a word we hear used frequently, probably many times in situations where the word truly does not fit. What does the word awesome mean? The dictionary definition says “inspiring awe.” And the definition of the word awe is “an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, etc., produced by that which is grand, sublime, extremely powerful, or the like.”
Awesome definitely is a word that we can use to describe our Lord! Since reading this verse in the Memory Verse Challenge, I have been thinking of ways that the Lord is awesome in my own life. Here are just a few from the past few days:
*An answer to a prayer. I had an answer almost immediately after praying which was just amazing to me.
*A colorful, swirly sunset.  The colors were just fascinating to see stretching across the sky.
*Remembering and reflecting on our Savior’s death and resurrection
*Receiving grace
*Hearing birds singing their different tunes before the sun comes up
* Beauty of a rose bush in bloom
When was the last time you have stopped and realized the awesomeness of our Lord? I challenge you to look for His awesome power on display in your life today.  Stand in awe of Him and all He has done!

God Knows Our Thoughts

"O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar, you discern my going out and my lying down, you are familiar with all my ways. - Psalm 139:1-3. (NIV).

God looks to see what is in people's hearts. And He knows what the Spirit is going to do. The Spirit talks to God for God's people. And He asks for them what God wants them to have. - Romans 8:27 (WE)

God knows the thought before we speak the word. Where can we go to flee from the Spirit? Nowhere, we are told. If we go to the mountaintops, He is there. If we go to the depths of the sea, He is there. If we ride a rocket to the moon, He is there. If we build a space station in outer space, He is there. He is the all-knowing Creator of all things.

He also knows our subconscious minds. They are better than tape recorders. They record everything we have ever heard, spoken or thought. We cannot control our minds alone, but God can. He created them the first place. In order to control and clean this stockpile of information, we need the penetrating light of God to reach it. He knows what is in there, and He loves us just the same. He was willing to die for us so that we could receive His light to clean our lives.

If we will let Him in, He'll work in the shadowy depths. If we are Christians, this is His domain.

Even on those days when we feel out of touch with God, He is still within us working, telling us through little pricks of consciousness and loneliness that He is still there, but we must open the door to find him.
