KEYS TO THE KINGDOM

Jesus asked Peter (Matthew 16:15) ..."Who do you say I am?"Peter answered (Matthew 16:16) ..."You are the ChristtheSon of the living God." Upon hearing Peter's declaration,Jesus said to Peter, (Matthew 16:19)I will give you the KEYSOF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN....

The keys are to the church which Jesus is the head(Ephesians 5:23)....Christ is the head of the churchhisbodyof which he is the SaviorPeter used those keys on theday of Pentecostthe birthday of the church of ChristHepreached the requirements of membership in "THE CHURCH"FaithRepentanceand Immersion in Water. The people whoassembled there believed his preaching that Jesus was theChrist and they asked, what shall we doPeter answered:Acts 2:38..."Repent and be baptizedeveryone one of youinthe name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven.And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

If Peter were to examine the contemporary churches today he might see "KEYS" he never implemented. See examples below.

(A) Act 2:28 "Repent and be baptized, because your sins are already forgiven, that was in effect the moment you believed in Jesus.

(B) Acts 2:38 "Repent and be baptized, if you have been selected to be saved before you were born.

(C) Acts 2:38 "Repent and be baptized so your sins may be forgiven, but only if it is confirmed by speaking in an unknown tongue.

(D) Acts 2:38"Repent and baptized, so you can join the local church, you are saved by "Faith Alone"

(E) Acts 2:38"Believe and repent, because water immersion makes no sense. We all know it means "Spiritual Baptism"!

(F) Acts 2:38 " Repent and be baptized as an act of obedience, or testimony of your faith.

(G)Acts 2:38 " Repent and be baptized , every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven. However, you cannot know you are saved by following Peter's command. You, must wait till you feel saved.

The question is, was Peter confused on the day of Pentecost or is there some confusion today?
