Titanic--A Ship even God Couldn't Sink

“For the Lord shall be your confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken” (Proverbs 3:26).

The Titanic was the greatest ship of its time. Every person, from steerage to the first class elite was excited to be part of its maiden voyage. Some unsuspecting and irreverent soul was heard to have said, “Even God Himself couldn’t sink this ship.” Call it coincidence, or divine justice, the fact is, that on April 15th, 1912 at 2:30 a.m., the Titanic plunged to the bottom of the ocean. More than 1,200 souls were lost that day.
Many of the patrons on this great ship had placed their confidence in the indestructibility of this gigantic piece of steel.
Did God cause the disaster? I don’t think so, He knows full well the foolishness of men. But could it be that in their complete confidence of a manmade structure, they forgot to acknowledge the Great Protector? Rather than lifting prayers to the Father, they were heralding accolades to the ship and its human builders.
Where does your confidence lie? In a job? A spouse? A monthly check? A degree? Jobs are lost, spouses fail and self-made success can disappear tomorrow. Only God never fails. He alone should be the only One we place full confidence in.
Hot Flash: My confidence lies in the great hands of the Master Creator, He alone can keep me from sinking when the icebergs of this world try to drag me down.
