In The Eyes of Truth

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. - John 8:32.

In this day and time, can one always know the difference between propaganda or lies and the truth? Sometimes, there is a fine line between and 'untruth' and the truth. Just look back at the time of Eve in the garden, when the serpent was speaking the 'word' that God had given to Adam. He mis-represented the truth, but it sounded so much like the truth, that Eve believed him.  Instead of relying on God or Adam for the truth, she listened with her mind instead of 'opening her eyes' to the lies of the serpent.

While listening to the radio, I heard about a Colonel in the Iraqi army. He had been detained at the Baghdad Airport by the Coalition forces. While being held in a hanger there, and watching Iraqi television, he heard the spokesman for Hussein say that it was a lie that the Americans had taken over the airport - that the Iraqi army had held it and pushed the Americans back. They said tears came into the Colonel's eyes, as he looked up at the interpreter, and said to him, "How long have they been telling these lies?" In that moment, his eyes had been opened at the propaganda his government had been spreading.  He realized that they had been led to believe the opposite of what had really been happening in Iraq. Perhaps he had his eyes opened to the lies of the government of Hussein in that moment to question anything that he had been told all these years.

If we listen closely, our eyes will be opened to the untruths of the world, to the things that man wants us to believe is correct, when in reality, it's not.  If the Holy Spirit resides within you, and you are reading the Word of Truth (Bible), then the Holy Spirit will enlighten you to the truth. And everything that is going on in the world today is in the scripture. There's nothing that has happened that isn't happening now. It's just that we are in 'real time'!  It's hard to believe that the people in God's time went through the exact same things that we are today. But, they did, just without all the communication outlets, or the electronics, or well-outfitted armies of modern day time. But, they had God. And, if we listen to Him closely today, He is in charge of every situation, and He will lead us out of any battle we may face. We just have to fully trust Him, and keep our faith turned to Him, and Him alone!
