IS there a sanctuary located in the local church building?
No, it is in heaven(Hebrews 8:1....We do have a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the Majesty IN HEAVEN, and who serves in the SANCTUARY, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.
Under the old covenant there was an earthly SANCTUARY, the holy of hollies. When Jesus died, that ended (Matthew 27:51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom..
Hebrews9:24 For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence.
There is no longer an earthly SANCTUARY. The place we assemble to worship on Sunday is not a SANCTUARY, nor is any part of the church building a sacred or holy place.
The only things holy in the building are the Christians, and only because they have the Holy Spirit. Why would anyone use the word SANCTUARY.
Would you feel comfortable going to McDonald's and referring to your meal as the LORD'S SUPPER?
