What is it with people calling themselves "Doctor" these days? Just driving around, I've seen signs for the "House Doctor," the "Rug Doctor," the "Car Doctor," and the "Money Doctor." Now, I know this frustrates medical doctors, who have gone to school for 22 plus years of their lives, paid their dues, have enormous school bills, wake up at 2:30 AM to deliver a baby, and spend what most people make in a year...on malpractice insurance (ah, the good life).


I'm not talking about PhD's, who have run the educational gamut too, and earned their highest degree, but are only to be called "doctor" by others within their field.


Our society has dishonored the title of doctor. There oughtta be a law - if you don't have an M.D. than you can be fined for impersonating a doctor, and practicing medicine without a license. They would start by asking you to recite the Hippocratic oath. If you can't, then they would give you the Hypocritic oath. Then they would ask to see your tongue depressors. Every doctor has a jar of those, even if he is a proctologist. Then, they would ask you to say "Hmm." If it didn't sound like it was backed up with a zillion Latin words for diseases, they'd ask to see your license. If you were a real doctor, your license would say that you have the right to "practice" medicine. Practice...on me? Hey, wait a minute. I'm no guinea pig, pal. And what if you slip with that scalpel? No, sirree....


There's only One Person I know who doesn't need to "practice" medicine. He knows exactly what's ailin' you, and how to fix it...every time. In fact, He made you..."in His image." And He paid the price for your health and salvation at that sacred of all schools...MCU - Mt. Calvary University. He is the only doctor "who never slumbers or sleeps" (Ps. 121:4); who truly does "feel your pain" (Heb. 4:15); who has been called by the ancient Jews as "Jehovah Rapha" - "I AM The Lord who heals you" (Exod. 15:26); Whose words are "life unto those who find them, and health to all their flesh" (Prov. 4:22); Who "sent forth His Word and healed them" (Ps. 107:20); Who has promised to "forgive all your iniquities, and heal all your diseases" (Ps. 103:3); Who has never ever turned any sick person away who enters His waiting room by faith (Mt. 4:23;8:16; 9:35; 13:58). He is the only doctor who has a General Practice, but is a Specialist in all areas (Mt. 12:13,22; 14:36; 15:30; 17:18; Mark 1:31; 10:52; Luke 7:21; 13:13; 17:14; 22:51; John 4:50; 5:9; 9:6,7); and Who doesn't require an appointment, but can be beckoned by the simple prayer of faith (Jam. 5:14,15).
